Post too much clutter
Would it be possible to reduce the amount of sections as its very sore on the eyes. There are three different general areas??? is there really a need for endless sections.
Love the idea of the site but i get dizzy trying to read it.

Please take this constructively.

Honestly, is this the thanks ;) .

Fair enough point... I guess I could remove the general forum in the "Clongriffin Developments" section as it has never been used. Think we better leave the others though as one is the main General section and the other is for the private forum.

Just offering a bit of constructive critisim.
Site is a great resource to the area and even better to read now that it is being moderated correctly.

I personally just think it's way too busy visually though.
General in the private section ?
Do you actually need a private as if i want to view everything all i need to do is sign up.

There's just way to much scrolling involved on the home page to find anything.
Maybe install a tool like google analytics and judge whats not being used and get rid of it.

Again just constructive feedback. ;)

Well this what the feedback section is here for. Homepage might be a bit busy alright maybe we could look at a redesign. What would you propose?

Re. Google Analytics I'm sure it is probably a breeze to install but I'm up to my eyes at the mo. and haven't time to investigate but if you want to come on board and help out we'd appreciate it. Pm/email me and/or Gav about it. We also want to put a portal on top of the forum which would clean up the index but again time constraints.

Re. the private section. That will be staying. I know anyone who registers can see it but so far most registered users are residents (you can get a fair idea from Who-is info in admin console, if the ISP is Magnet for example and also from users posts etc.). If we thought the private area was being used inappropriately (like reporters looking for dirt) we might restrict it to verifiable groups but for now I think it's OK. Also, it makes it easier to section stuff off and the forums in there (except the pyrite and SCF ones) are auto-pruned after 6 weeks. That was announced when the prunes were put in place but you may not have been registered then. I think that's explained in the welcome section in the rules also. If it's not then it probably should.

That's it really. If you want to help out and make some changes get in touch and we'll discuss. For now I'll remove that one forum that hasn't been touched.

P.S. If you think the site is busy now you should have seen the Haloween theme!

Hi,

I'll add Google analytics in a few days, it's pretty easy and I've done this for other sites.

Will also look at forums for usage etc.

Gav.

Just like to say, i think the site is fine without causing any hardship to the peolpe who already give there free time to run it.

If you look at the site at least 2-3 times a week, click on the section " view active posts" you have everything from all the different threads on one page and you wouldnt miss out on anything.

Good work folks.
